Uniwater strengthens expertise in advanced water treatment and PFAS handling – enters into an agreement to acquire Ramson

Uniwater has entered into an agreement to acquire Ramson, a market-leading specialist in filtration for drinking water treatment and liquids in industrial processes. Through the acquisition, Uniwater takes another step to meet the future need for water treatment.

Ramson offers products and complete solutions for industrial and municipal water treatment in Sweden. With solid knowledge in membrane technology with ultra- and nanofiltration, as well as elimination of PFAS and heavy metals, the company delivers niche solutions for both municipal and industrial customers.

We see great opportunities with this strategic acquisition. I am convinced that it will bring synergies that not only strengthen our position within the water treatment segment but also enable opportunities for collaboration and innovation in our group. Uniwater continues to pursue an ambitious agenda to build water infrastructure of the future in all communities where we operate. Ramson’s expertise in managing PFAS is a critical competence to ensure clean drinking water today and tomorrow, says Olof Nordin, Business Area Director for Uniwater Treatment.

Ramson has had a strong performance in recent years, driven by a rising demand for water treatment services as well as a specific focus on PFAS-related solutions. Historically, Ramson’s customers have mainly been industrial companies, however since 2015 municipal and regional customers have been added, which now account for about 40% of the assignments. The company has also moved from being a supplier of products to delivering complete solutions.

Anders Käck is the new CEO of Ramson since the autumn of 2024. Chairman of the Board and former CEO of the company Ragnar Sjöberg will remain in the company and focus on sales and development.

The companies in Uniwater group are very interesting to us, and I look forward to both synergies and cooperation. I see great potential in gaining access to a larger network, to exchange experiences and technical knowledge, says Anders Käck, CEO of Ramson.

The transaction is subject to customary regulatory approvals and is expected to close during the second quarter 2025.
