Ecological Sustainability

Aiming for Leadership

We are committed to becoming a leader in ecological sustainability in our industry by minimising our environmental impact and promoting solutions that are sustainable in the long term.

We apply sustainability principles in all our operations to contribute to a brighter future for coming generations.

Reduced Energy Consumption

We actively work to reduce energy consumption in the facilities and products we produce and sell. By offering energy-efficient solutions, we can help our customers minimise their climate footprint. In 2023, our energy consumption decreased thanks to measures such as sealing doors, switching to LED lighting, and increasing the proportion of electric cars in our fleet.

We invest in new technology and innovative projects to promote ecological sustainability.

In our pilot project – a pump station with a lower climate footprint –helps the customer make responsible choices in both production and operation. Standard measurements, modular casting, and lower temperatures are some of the choices that make a difference.
Ibeco Rental offers rental of water and wastewater equipment, helping customers become more circular and gentler on the environment.

Thinking Big Means Thinking in Circles

A circular economy is a global mega-trend that affects the entire society, and the transition can positively contribute to many sustainability goals. For Uniwater companies, this means developing business models to create circular solutions for customers. The demand is rising, and increased circularity in materials is a priority.

2023 was the first year Uniwater companies measured scope 3 emissions to prepare for new regulations. The focus was on the four most relevant purchasing categories. We will continue to expand reporting and improve data collection to effectively reduce emissions across the entire value chain.

"We want to be a catalyst for sustainability in the water and wastewater industry."

Pål Warolin, VD Uniwater
