Social Sustainability
A Safe, Inclusive, and Development-Oriented Work Environment
Social sustainability is a cornerstone of our business. By offering continuous education, promoting a safe work environment, and actively working towards equality and diversity, we aim to create a safe, inclusive, and development-oriented work environment for all our employees.
A Safe Workplace
Safety always comes first. Through continuous improvements, we strive to create a culture where safety is a natural part of everyday life.
Increased Awareness of a Safe Work Environment
Safety work is an ongoing effort. Uniwater companies work continuously with training in occupational health and safety issues. Improved information, routines, and structure have led to more reported incidents and accidents.
Training, Behaviors, and New Tools
The more knowledge we have about incidents and accidents, the better we can work preventively. One of our subsidiaries has implemented an app for reporting incidents, accidents, and deviations – with good results. The app will gradually be introduced in more companies within the group.
Happier Employees
We aim to be a workplace where employees develop and feel good, both physically and mentally. A place where everyone can grow and thrive through continuous skills development, improved internal communication, and health-promoting initiatives.
Employee Surveys and Follow-Up
Regular health checks and employee surveys help us continuously improve the work environment. We actively work with leadership training and improved occupational health services.
Health Initiatives
We support our employees’ physical and mental health through various wellness programs and health initiatives. Efforts include leadership training, recruitment of new managers, and improved occupational health services. The goal is to keep sick leave below 5% through continued initiatives and activities.
Equality and Diversity
We actively work to create an inclusive workplace where all employees, regardless of gender, age, ethnicity, or background, feel welcome. Our initiatives include salary surveys, development of job ads, and collaborations with schools to broaden the recruitment base.
“If we want more women in our companies, we need to make an effort. The number of female water and wastewater managers is increasing in Sweden, and the proportion of women should increase with us as well.”
