– We’re so happy about coming to an agreement with ABAT. It’s a well-managed company with really great products and a loyal customer base. Now, that we can provide the Uniwater group’s knowledge and organization, we see the company’s high growing potential, and ABAT is a perfect fit for the group’s offering, says Carl Berglund, business area manager of Uniwater Products.
ABAT was built up and run by entrepreneur Thomas Andersson for the past 25 years. Thomas will continue to be active in the company moving forward, but with a primary focus on his area of expertise – to design and develop hatches, mainly for the water industry. A new CEO will be recruited, and the recruitment process will start as soon as possible.
– It’s been an fantastic journey to make ABAT into what it is today, with ten employees and a turnover of over SEK 20 million. The company’s now in need of a new force to keep developing, and I’m not the right person for that task. I want to keep developing and creating new products. So, I’m very happy that the company’s now a part of the Uniwater group. Uniwater has been very respectful to our company throughout this process, and we have a shared vision for how the company should grow moving forward, in Sweden as well as in the rest of the Nordics, says Thomas Andersson.
Acquisitions are an important part of Uniwater’s strategy for the way ahead, and the plan is to keep growing.
– We have ambitious goals set for this year, and for a number of years to come. One goal is vigorous growth through growing both organically and through acquisition. ABAT is a smaller takeover for us, but at the same time a strategically important one. ABAT complements us in a very good way, and enables us to now broaden our offering as a group. We also see a great geographic potential in the company, and we plan to offer ABAT’s products to customers on the Nordic market very soon, says Fredrik Jonsson, group CEO of Uniwater.
